Singing holidays run by singers for singers

Sorry - RUTTER GLORIA ONLINE has been and gone. We may well return but, for now, please follow this link to our Home Page for details of this year's great singing holidays

The Glory of Rutter, Online

Following the huge success of our online Mozart Requiem - which attracted over 1000 singers from all over the world - our next project will feature the music of John Rutter.

Join our online choir and orchestra to sing Rutter's joyous Gloria and two of his most popular short works - 'For the Beauty of the Earth' and 'The Lord Bless you and Keep You'. Rehearsals will begin with a special introduction recorded exclusively for us by John Rutter. Use this link here to sign up.

Matt Finch will lead two weeks of rehearsals starting 2 February which will cover all the movements of the work in separate sectional rehearsals and then all together. There is no need to sing in silence - there will be a backing choir and an organ accompanist to practice with; later on - an orchestra!

Singers need to provide their own music. Rutter's Gloria and the two anthems: 'For the beauty of the Earth' and 'The Lord Bless you and Keep You.' are published by Oxford University Press (OUP) and readily available online and in music shops. The approximate cost of all three pieces is £15.00 in total.

Once we are all familiar with the music, singers will be invited to record themselves at home and send in the result for inclusion in a brand new recording. We shall then perform the work together at a concert on 20 March.

Many of you will be very familiar with John Rutter's music; if you don't already know his Gloria you are in for a treat. You can find an excerpt here from a performance in Carnegie Hall on YouTube. The whole piece is also available to listen to on YouTube and Spotify

When are the rehearsals?
Rehearsals will all be available on YouTube which means that you can join in at a time that suits YOU. You can pause the rehearsal, rewind, and repeat as many times as you want to during the course. Participants will also have the opportunity to record their voices for inclusion in our end of course concert.

What does it Cost?
The whole experience costs £29.95 (about $40). If you are outside the UK, check out using Paypal to take care of the conversion at no extra cost to you. Your subscription covers  all rehearsals, the final concert and an introductory talk recorded specially for us by John Rutter. Plus you get a 25% discount on rehearsal aids from our partner ChoraLine.
