Singing holidays run by singers for singers

A Week in Vilnius - 14 July to 21 July 2024

Directed by Patrick Craig

4 LEVEL

A Week in Vilnius

Vilnius, which is an elegant and under-explored European capital will see RBS complete it's Baltic triangle following previous highly successful singing events in Riga and Tallinn. We are delighted to welcome back Patrick Craig to direct a feast of choral music taken from his year at London's St Paul's Cathedral – where he is a Vicar Choral.

"The music for this week will take us on a joyful and exhilarating journey through the liturgical year at St Paul's Cathedral, from the glitter of Christmas, through the emotions of Holy Week to the delight of Easter. This programme features some of our most beloved regular repertoire and includes music written especially for the building. "        Patrick Craig

We generally choose nice hotels for you but we are particularly pleased to be working with the 4 star Hotel Neringa in Vilnius. We think you will really enjoy staying there. On our half-day Thursday we there will be an opportunity to visit Trakai castle - the castle in the middle of the lake featured in our picture gallery above - have some lunch, and enjoy a guided tour of the castle and grounds.

Who is the course for?

This course is for experienced singers who want to improve their choral technique and enjoy exploring a rich mix of repertoire in a convivial social setting. Singing couples and individual singers are all welcome. Music will be sent out in advance and, while nobody is expected to be note perfect on arrival, we do expect singers to familiarise themselves with the music beforehand. This is not a course for beginners but anyone who has been singing regularly in a choral society or church choir is unlikely to feel out of their depth.

The course will begin with supper at 7.30 pm on the Sunday evening with rehearsals starting in earnest on the Monday morning. The end of course concert will take place on the Saturday night with most people leaving for home the next day.
