Norwich Cathedral Weekend - 1 September to 3 September
Directed by Peter North
Learn to sing like a cathedral chorister in the charming and historic city of Norwich. This study weekend for experienced singers will focus on the glorious music of the Anglican liturgy with particular emphasis on the services of Eucharist and Evensong. Our weekend, which will be based in the Song School of the cathedral, will concentrate on plainsong, psalm-reading and the canticles. Our course tutor, Peter North, is Head of Voice at King's School Ely and his calm, reassuring approach will soon put everyone at ease.
We will sing three services over the weekend, the main Sunday Eucharist service, and two services of Evensong . There will be an evening meal together on the Friday night, plenty of leisure time to explore Norwich - and a guided tour of the Cathedral itself.
Who is the course for?
This course is for experienced choral singers of all ages. Participants should have reasonable sight-reading ability and be prepared to study the music beforehand, although nobody is expected to be note-perfect on Day One.
